GeneaBloggers ...

I have to tell all of you how excited I am to be a part of this group! This week I emailed a request to be added to the blogroll. However, I've been reading as many blogs as I can each night for months. There are so many great prompts that the members of this group have come up with, like the Advent Calendar of Christmas Memories, the Daily Blog Prompts, and the 52 Weeks to Better Genealogy. Thomas MacEntee has organized all of the events for each day so well. I've learned so much from everyone about keeping a blog and the daily GEN information and advice is great. Everything I need is all right here! It's also done one more thing for me: the Advent Calendar's prompt for today is the "Christmas Tree Ornaments". My Grandma VandenEynden made all of her own ornaments and had several different trees, each with its own theme. One of the trees had ornaments that she made when my Dad was a little boy. I have pictures of these trees-in boxes! Ready to be scanned! In other words, GeneaBloggers has also reminded me, by the events it holds and especially "Scanfest", that being organized is just as important as research. Those Christmas memories I want to share with all of you usually have photos to go with them! Time to stop staring at those boxes of photos! I think I'll start by digging out the Christmas ones!
